ELISABETH DAUENHAUER Aged 92, was called home by Her Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2000. Born January 15, 1908 Elisabeth journeyed from Russia to Germany and finally in 1951 made her home in Canada, accompanying her sister Emilie who has two daughters, Monica and Renate. Elisabeth honoured her roots, celebrated her ethnic history and lived a thank-filled life in her adopted country. Gifted in sewing, Elisabeth bestowed her family with lovingly created expressions of her talent and generosity. She was an avid reader and loved classical music, as well as travelling. But most of all, Elisabeth was a gentle woman of deep and constant faith in her Creator. She served her parish, St. Josephs, for 50 dedicated years, 35 of which as member of the C.W.L. Elisabeth was loved especially and will be missed deeply by her only remaining sister, Emilie Toews, whose daughters and extended families adored their Tante Lisa, as did close friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her three brothers and one sister. Mass of the Resurrection is being celebrated by Fr. Diosdado at St. Josephs R.C. Church, Mountain and Andrews, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7. Prayers will be said on Thursday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton. Flowers gratefully declined.
